Canada's first game during the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in Toronto and Drake is hyping up his home city ahead of the major sporting event.

The Toronto rapper met with FIFA's president to discuss Canada co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup when he started talking about how he thinks the city will embrace the soccer tournament.

On February 4, the 2026 FIFA World Cup match schedule was released and it was revealed that Canada's first game would be held at BMO Field in Toronto on June 12, 2026.

Following the news, the FIFA World Cup Instagram account shared a video of Drake speaking with FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

In the clip the rapper first talks about how passionate football fans can get, especially when "it's your country's pride."

Infantino then highlighted that was especially the case in Canada, which is when Drake started praising his hometown.

"Not to make this a Canadian promo. Please feel free to visit Canada. We are the nicest people you will ever meet in your life," the Toronto musician said to the camera.

"I think that it's just gonna fill the streets with so much energy."

The Toronto match on June 12, 2026, will mark the first-ever FIFA World Cup men's match on Canadian soil.

Toronto will host six matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
