Popeyes Chicken Sandwich Hits Canada September 12 But You Have To Be On A List To Get One

It's super exclusive!
Senior Writer

The wait is almost over... for some people. Popeyes Canada's chicken sandwich is hitting five provinces on September 12 but there's a catch. You have to be on a list to get your hands on one.

While this famous chicken sandwich has already done trial runs in a couple of Canadian cities, it has yet to drop across the country.

The fast food chain is doing something special for chicken lovers here in the True North before the official launch.

You can get on "The List" and be among the first people in Canada to get a taste.

All you have to do is tag @PopeyesCA, hashtag your province, use #PopeyesSandwichList and explain why you deserve to get an early taste.

Then wait and see if you make the cut!

This is open to residents of B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario and ends on September 6 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Only one person per household can do this though so the whole family can't get on the list.

In those five provinces, six Popeyes locations will have the anticipated item available for purchase to people on the exclusive list.

Those spots will be in Surrey, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto and Mississauga.

If you make it onto the list, you can head to a Popeyes location in one of those six cities on September 12 and get your hands on the chicken sandwich.

You can buy two of them between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time.

This is all happening before the official launch of the sandwich across Canada so this is a very exclusive opportunity.

Alberta and Ontario tested the new menu item this year.

Edmonton was the first place in the country to get a taste back in June and then it came to London, Sarnia, Windsor, Chatham, St. Thomas and Strathroy earlier in the summer.

Anticipation for this sandwich started back in February when it was announced that it would be making its way up north at the end of the year.

Then in May, it was reported that it would be launching in September.
