Alberta Has More Active COVID-19 Cases Than Ever Before With Almost 900 This Weekend Alone

We have more right now than we did in April, at the peak of the first wave. 😳

While there was no live update on COVID-19 in Alberta on Monday, October 19, the province issued updates online. 

According to the Government of Alberta, 322 cases were confirmed on Friday, 231 on Saturday, and 356 on Sunday. 

That totals at a whopping 898 in just one weekend.

3,138 Active cases in Alberta

According to CBC News, Alberta has officially broken its record for the highest active cases. 

The last record was reportedly from April, at the height of the first wave. 

The province currently has 117 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 18 of whom are in intensive care. 

The provincial death toll has reached 292.
