I stayed in Ontario's 'most beautiful village' and it was straight out of a Hallmark movie

It's a magical weekend getaway spot.

Just over an hour from Toronto lies a little village that's full of old-world charm. Known for its beauty and dreamy attractions, this small town is a stunning escape with scenic landscapes, cozy cafes and European vibes.

Elora, Ontario is a quaint destination perched along the Grand River. I recently stayed overnight in the enchanting town and it felt like a real-life Hallmark movie.

It's no surprise that Elora is known as "Ontario's most beautiful village." The limestone buildings and scenic gorge made me feel like I was in a whole other world.

The area is even prettier during the Christmas season. The streets are completely decked out in glowing lights and Christmas trees shimmer from every corner.

I stayed at the Elora Mill Hotel & Spa, a luxurious getaway spot nestled atop the rushing gorge.

Once a working mill, the historic venue has been transformed by Pearle Hospitality into a stunning getaway spot with 30 guest rooms, a multi-level restaurant and rooftop spa.

The rooms have three different styles — rustic, modern, and French design. Most are home to indoor seasonal fireplaces and soaker tubs, and each one has a king-sized bed, marble walk-in shower, and heated floors.

I stayed in one of the Solarium Suites, which offers floor to ceiling windows with breathtaking views of the gorge and rushing waterfall.

The faint hum of the cascading water below added to the serene vibe and atmosphere of the space.

One of my favourite parts about the room was the real, wood-burning fireplace. The Mill even offers a special fire-lighting service, where someone comes in and starts the fire for you.

Another highlight of the stay was the restaurant. Perched atop the river, the venue boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with epic views and seasonal dishes made with local ingredients.

I loved every dish on the multi-course tasting menu, but the chocolate mousse dessert was hands-down my favorite. I also ordered a harvest season cocktail, which added a cozy touch to the experience.

The spa is the place to be if you're in need of some pampering and relaxation. The award-winning facility offers a range of treatments including facials and massages, as well as light dishes and boozy drinks.

You can unwind in the saunas and steam rooms or head to the four-season rooftop patio and enjoy gorge views from the heated pool and hot tub.

The chilly weather made the patio extra cozy and the fire pits added an extra bit of charm to the scene. Sipping apple cider while relaxing in the hot tub was one of my top moments from the trip.

The village of Elora itself is a magical place to explore. I spent some time wandering through the quaint shops and cafes and soaking up all the holiday magic.

I was also able to check out the new Elora Christmas Market. With cobblestone streets, glowing vendor cabins and a canopy of lights, this spot gave me all those warm holiday feels.

Overall, my getaway was so magical and I wasn't ready to leave. The Mill is a great spot to visit for a romantic weekend away, or even just a spa treatment or fancy dinner out.

The town is so charming during the holiday season, but is also beautiful year-round. I'm already dreaming of my next visit!
