Was made by the world's 500 richest people in 2020

According to Bloomberg Wealth’s report, the 500 wealthiest people in the world became ever richer last year, adding US$1.8 trillion to their combined net worth.

This is the equivalent of a 31% wealth increase — the biggest annual jump in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index’s history.

The majority of these gains were at the top of the list, where five people now hold fortunes of over US$100 billion.

This includes the world’s two richest people, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla.

Together, the duo is believed to have earned US$217 billion in 12 months, which is over CA$276 billion.

Musk had a particularly staggering year, reportedly growing his wealth by over US$100 billion USD in one year.
