If you've ever used a prepaid gift card, you may be eligible to claim some cash. 

A $17 million Ontario Class Action Settlement involving Vanilla Visa and MasterCard prepaid cards has been approved.

Anyone who used one of these cards between November 29, 2011, and April 30, 2014, can now make a claim by visiting the Gift Card Class Action website.

In a statement to Narcity, Jonathan Schachte, a spokesperson for Sotos law firm, confirmed that depending on the card, some residents could receive over $100. 

The settlement comes after the cards reportedly went against Ontario regulations by "charging certain fees and seizing unused balances on prepaid payment cards."
