With delivery through Amazon Prime, Canada's north is going to see delivery timeframes shrink from 20 days down to just five days.

The tech giant just announced that Prime customers in Iqaluit, Nunavut will be able to get faster delivery times because of expanded service in Canada.

People in Iqaluit who have Prime can now get the items that they order in as little as three to five days.

It used to take 15 to 20 days for packages to be delivered.

Amazon said that the service is in partnership with Canadian North, an Inuit-owned airline, and is an additional way for customers to get their orders.

All Prime members in the city can get this quicker delivery at no extra cost.

Iqaluit's mayor Kenneth Bell said that fast shipping and delivery times "are essential to ensuring our community has access to many of the daily essentials items they need."
