Once again, Justin Trudeau is warning Canadians that “nothing is off the table” when it comes to Canada’s travel rules.

Speaking during a press conference on January 26, the prime minister confirmed that an announcement about travel restrictions will be coming in the next few days.

As I’ve said before, when it comes to protecting you and your family, nothing is off the table. Justin Trudeau

“We are doing whatever it takes to keep Canadians safe,” he said.

“We will not hesitate to take even tougher measures if and when they’re needed and we’ll be making an announcement in the coming days,” he added.

Following his suggestion that an update to the rules is coming, Trudeau promised that “the bad choices of a few will never be allowed to put everyone else in danger.”

As part of the same message, the PM revealed that Canada’s current travel measures are working and “saving lives.”

Trudeau noted that the rules are some of the world’s strictest, as Canada requires a negative COVID-19 test, as well as a mandatory two-week quarantine period.

He also noted that other countries, such as the United States, have started implementing similar restrictions.
