Michelle Obama Wants Trump Permanently Banned From Social Media For 'Monstrous Behavior'
Facebook and Instagram have already banned Trump "indefinitely".
Former First Lady Twitter Thursday pleading for Silicon Valley companies to permanently ban outgoing President from all social media platforms.shared a strong statement on
"Now is the time for Silicon Valley companies to stop enabling this monstrous behavior," she wrote.
Her request follows theat the U.S. Capitol on January 6, which Trump was not quick to respond to on social media.
When he finally did respond, Twitter promptly removed Trump's video statement saying he "violated the Twitter Rules" and thenon the platform for 12 hours.
Shortly after, Mark Zuckerbergexplaining that the president would be banned from Facebook and Instagram at least through Inauguration Day on January 20.
In her letter, the former first lady expressed her sadness about the events at the Capitol writing, "I hurt for our country."
She called on the leaders of social media companies to "go even further than they already have by permanently banning this man from their platforms."
As of Friday morning, Silicon Valley has not responded to Obama's statement.
