It's heating up fast in Arizona, and you're about to see why. Grand Canyon National Park shared a picture to its Twitter page showing how shade makes a difference in the desert. What a difference some shade makes! These two ground temperature readings were made only four feet apart at Indian Garden, and show a difference of nearly 30°F/16°C between the shade and the sun! pic.twitter.com/tPtuDQmDML— Grand Canyon NPS (@GrandCanyonNPS) July 6, 2020 It's a 30-degree difference! Grand Canyon NPS also warned that during the summer, nearly all shade on canyon trails disappear and temperatures increase the further down you go. They recommend that you avoid going on hikes between 10 am - 4 pm when visiting. Via Grand Canyon NPS
