If you're looking to make money while you get an education, government of Canada jobs for students in high school, CEGEP, college and university are open.

Most students can earn over $20 an hour with these positions and some can get paid more than $30 an hour!

Canada's Federal Student Work Experience Program, which is also known as the FSWEP, is hiring for positions in over 300 cities and towns across the country.

With the FSWEP, jobs are available in administration, agriculture, communications, enforcement, finance, IT, policy, and more fields.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available for high school, CEGEP, college and university students.

You're eligible to apply for an FSWEP job if:

  • you are a full-time high school, CEGEP, college or university student
  • you are returning to full-time studies in the next academic year
  • you meet the minimum age requirement of the province/territory you'll be working in

Students who are in their final year of academic study and aren't planning on returning to full-time studies are only eligible to work part-time until they graduate.

Preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents for these positions.

FSWEP rates of pay are from $16 to $34.59 an hour until April 30, 2024, and then from $17.36 to $37.53 an hour as of May 1, 2024.

Job openings from the FSWEP are "filled on an ongoing basis" so you don't have to wait to submit an application.
