Jason Kenney Is Already Furious With Joe Biden & Says It's 'Not How You Treat A Friend'

Following the cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline by Joe Biden, Jason Kenney released a statement saying that he is "deeply disturbed" by the president's actions. 

Kenney wrote in his statement that the U.S. is Canada's most important trading partner and that Alberta has the "deepest economic ties to the United States."

As friends and allies of the United States, we are deeply disturbed that one of President Biden's first actions in office has been to rescind the Presidential permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline border crossing.  Jason Kenney

The premier said that his "thoughts are with the 2,000 people who lost their jobs today, and those who are coping with the devastating consequences of this decision." 

After speaking further about the pipeline and how it's "part of the solution to the energy transition," Kenney said that Biden's move is "not how you treat a friend and ally." 

He said that he will continue to fight for the energy industry and the jobs it will create. 

Alberta's premier is one of several Canadian politicians who have spoken publicly about the cancellation. 

He issued a call to Justin Trudeau to immediately talk to Joe Biden about his decision.
