Healthcare workers across the province have joined together in a strike against "Jason Kenney’s job-killing policies."
The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees announced on Monday morning that the strike would be taking place and hospital workers across the province have already taken to the streets.
In Canmore, staff members are standing along the road out in front of the hospital with signs that read "Kenney, hear us now?" and "people before profits."

Jobs to be cut
“Anger has been building among members for months,” says Guy Smith, president of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) in the news release.
“The recent announcement by Health Minister Tyler Shandro of 11,000 jobs being cut in the middle of a global deadly pandemic was the last straw for them," he continued.
While healthcare workers stand out in negative temperatures, the Premiere, Jason Kenney, has yet to issue any statements on the matter.

Smith's news release ended with a plead to Albertans “All Albertans are being targeted by this government. If you are a public or private-sector worker, a parent, a student, a teacher, someone with a handicap or disabilities, you are all under attack. This is your fight, too.”
