Is there a new movie in the works? Sadly it's not Dumb and Dumber 3, but Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels did team up for an audiobook reading of Carrey's upcoming novel. Memoirs and Misinformation comes out next month and looks to take readers, and now listeners, on quite the fictional ride.

The Newmarket, Ontario-born actor announced on Twitter that his friend and occasional co-star collaborated with him for an audio reading of the novel.

"Couldn’t be more delighted that my friend @Jeff_Daniels found the time to narrate my novel ‘Memoirs and Misinformation.’ Get it July 7th. Click the pic for a listen!," Carrey wrote, with an attached one-minute long clip from the audiobook.

Daniels reshared the post on his account and added the comment, "Buckle up. In a good way."

Memoirs and Misinformation was co-written by Carrey and author Dana Vachon.

According to Indie Bound, the 272-page novel is "a fearless semi-autobiographical novel, a deconstruction of persona."

Carrey and Vachon created the story that addresses topics including "acting, Hollywood, agents, celebrity, privilege, friendship, romance, addiction to relevance, fear of personal erasure, our 'one big soul,' Canada, and a cataclysmic ending of the world—apocalypses within and without."

The novel centres around a character that's named after the 58-year-old Canadian, but is ultimately a fictionalized narrative with a sprinkle of truth added in.

"Meet Jim Carrey. Sure, he's an insanely successful and beloved movie star drowning in wealth and privilege--but he's also lonely. Maybe past his prime. Maybe even . . . getting fat?" the synopsis reads. "He's tried diets, gurus, and cuddling with his military-grade Israeli guard dogs, but nothing seems to lift the cloud of emptiness and ennui. Even the sage advice of his best friend, actor and dinosaur skull collector Nicolas Cage, isn't enough to pull Carrey out of his slump."

In early May, the actor tweeted about his upcoming novel writing, "Most memoirs blur the line between fact and fiction; I erased the line, completely. Fiction is one of the few places left where a person can be truly honest."

Later that month, he shared some sneak peek photos of the book that you can check out below.
