Canada's weather forecast this Labour Day long weekend is going to be a rollercoaster, with everything from summer heat to a sneak peek of fall.

From the looks of a new forecast released by The Weather Network, depending on where you are, you might need both your sunglasses and a cozy sweater.

Western Canada: Cool start, hot finish

If you're in B.C., don't let the cool, rainy start to the week fool you. By the time the weekend hits, the sun will be out and temperatures will be soaring. Expect highs in the upper 20s to low 30s in the southern Interior, while the South Coast enjoys warm, sunny days — though it'll be a bit cooler right along the coast. By Monday, things will cool off slightly, so enjoy the heat while it lasts!

Prairies: Weather whiplash

Prairie folks, get ready for a temperature swing. After a chilly start, the weekend will heat up — especially in Alberta and Saskatchewan, where highs could reach the upper 20s and even touch 30 degrees. Manitoba will have a more typical fall vibe with some showers on Saturday, but don't worry — things warm up again just in time for Labour Day.

Northern Ontario: Fall is knocking

Up in northern Ontario, it's going to start off warm, but a cold front on Saturday will change things up fast. Expect showers, thunderstorms and a serious drop in temperature. By Sunday and Monday, highs will struggle to get out of the upper teens, with a brisk wind making it feel even chillier — perfect for those early fall feels.

Southern Ontario: Heat, storms & a big cool down

Southern Ontario, you're in for a wild ride. The week ends with hot, sticky weather, but don't get too comfortable. Storms are rolling in late Friday, especially southeast of Toronto, and Saturday morning might still be a bit stormy. But the sun should make a comeback by the afternoon. Sunday starts warm, but don't be surprised if you see more storms as a cold front moves in. By Labour Day Monday, you'll be reaching for a sweater with highs barely hitting 20 degrees.

Eastern Ontario & southern Quebec: Pleasant start, stormy finish

If you're in eastern Ontario or southern Quebec, the weekend kicks off on a sweet note with sunny skies and highs in the mid-20s. But by Friday night, showers and thunderstorms will crash the party, lingering into Saturday morning. Sunday will be nicer, but don't get too comfy — a new round of storms is expected by evening, followed by a cool and breezy Labour Day with highs in the teens.

Atlantic Canada: A mixed bag

In Atlantic Canada, you're getting a little bit of everything. The weekend starts cool, but Saturday will warm up nicely. Unfortunately, showers and thunderstorms will crash the party late Saturday and Sunday. Monday is looking pretty wet across the region, but Newfoundland, especially St. John's, might stay mostly dry and warm. Fingers crossed!

Wherever you are in Canada this Labour Day weekend, expect the unexpected. Whether you're soaking up the last bit of summer or getting a head start on fall, keep an eye on the forecast and adjust your plans as needed.
