These dark desert mountains in Southern California are going to be filled with wolves on Halloween night but you've actually got nothing to fear.

These are the wolves of the Wolf Connection Ranch, a wolf sanctuary in Southern California that rescues and provides shelter and care to improve their quality of life.

And this Halloween, the ranch invites you to take part in HOWL'oween, an exclusive event where you can hike into the dark desert mountains with the wolves and then be left on your own to find your way back.

1.5 miles of hiking involved in the event

In order to find your way back to camp, you must channel your inner wolf and let your intuition guide you along the haunted trail.

Once you're there, you'll be given a guided tour of the wolf compound (and get introduced to the wolves who live there).

The hiking part of HOWL'oween is around 1.5 miles and involves some mild hills.

The ranch is open year-round for hikes and other events but HOWL'oween is one night only (Halloween night).
