Ontario's weather is going to get seriously wild this week and you'll need both your spring jacket and your parka on hand.

According to The Weather Network, the first half of the week could get close to the record highs for February.

"A typical February in Toronto struggles to hit the double-digits just once," says TWN. "This year, though, we’re on track to see our sixth and seventh days reach 10°C or warmer."

For Monday, London and Windsor could see temperatures as high as 11 C, and on Tuesday, it's going to get even warmer across southern and eastern Ontario with some areas expected to get numbers into the mid-teens — in fact, Brockville and Cornwall could see temperatures as high as 17 C.

"We’re closely watching eastern Ontario for potential all-time February heat records," notes the agency. "Ottawa's warmest February temperature was a balmy 12.4°C day back in 2000."

Things are going to take a serious turn midweek.

"A dramatic cold front sliding out of northern Ontario will kick off a truly impressive temperature swing heading into Wednesday night," notes TWN. "This will be one of the most extreme temperature drops we’ve seen in recent memory, so forecasters will monitor the risk of a flash freeze."

While Ottawa is going to see a high of 13 C on Wednesday, that's going to turn into -13 C by the next morning.

"Precipitation will quickly change over to snow across southern Ontario as the frigid air takes hold Wednesday night into Thursday. Areas that saw a chance for thunderstorms on Wednesday will see the opportunity for lake-effect snow by Thursday."

Thankfully, the cold won't last for too long and temps are supposed to "quickly rebound" for next week.
