This summer, the Central Experimental Farm won't have its massive sunflower garden, but there are plenty of alternatives nearby. Only a short drive away, you can visit gigantic fields of yellow blooms, and some of them even have pick-your-own gardens.

La Belle de Coteau-du-Lac

Why You Need To Go: For a fantastic day trip, you can head to this adorable farm with an 8-acre field that has sunflowers in a variety of different colours (not just the standard yellow). They also offer a pick-your-own flower garden.
Sultan Sanctuary Farm

Why You Need To Go: It is a floral dreamland with 15 acres of sunflowers. While it is free to visit, guests can donate to help care for the field and animals.
Scotch Line Farm

Why You Need To Go: This summer, they are having their biggest sunflower garden yet. If you are looking for a last-minute activity, this farm is perfect as they don't require you to book a timeslot in advance.
