Brunch time is the best time, and if you're looking for the best brunch in Ottawa, then you'll want to set your alarm and plan a morning date to one of these spots.

Online restaurant-reservation service OpenTable recently revealed the Top 100 Brunch Restaurants in Canada for 2024 and five Ottawa restaurants made the cut.

The list was complied by analyzing more than 1.3 million verified OpenTable diner reviews and dining metrics from February 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024.

Restaurants with a minimum number of diner reviews were evaluated based on factors like ratings, reservation frequency, and search popularity.

Restaurants were then ranked by the percentage of reviews mentioning "brunch."

Ottawa restaurants Cantina Gia, Cocotte Bistro, Zoe's at Fairmont Chateau Laurier, NeXT and Hunter's Public House all earned a spot on the list.

Cantina Gia is an Italian spot with whimsical chic decor and a drool-worthy brunch menu. You can enjoy dishes like porchetta eggs benedict, avocado toast and blueberry Italian crepes.

Cocotte Bistro is a French restaurant that will transport you to Paris. The menu includes beef tartare, granola parfait, a French omelette and boozy drinks.

While Zoe's at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier does not have a brunch menu, it still has been identified as a good place for brunch by OpenTable users. The venue's afternoon tea is a popular offering and features "unique pastries, open-faced sandwiches and our famous English scones," according to the website.

Stittsville's NeXT offers a unique Sunday brunch tasting menu. The multi-course meal includes blueberry buttermilk pancakes, poached eggs, chocolate mousse and more.

Hunter's Public House has a weekend brunch with drool-worthy dishes like breakfast poutine, baked brie waffle and a variety of eggs benny.

Happy brunching!
