An Ontario Woman Broke Quarantine To Go Work After She Had Been Travelling Abroad
Police have charged an Ottawa woman who failed to quarantine in Ontario after travelling abroad, and went straight back to work instead.
According to Ottawa Police, the woman returned to Canada on September 26 and went back to work at a long-term health facility on September 30 instead of quarantining until October 9.
The 53-year-old is now facing two charges under the Quarantine Act, including risking imminent death or serious bodily harm.

The woman decided not to respect this order and went to work on September 30th, 2020 at a long-term health facility in Ottawa.

According to police, the management was not initially aware, but when they were told of the situation, she was immediately sent home.
Following, the facility was forced to enforce deep cleaning protocols, as well as contact trace all those that the woman had come into contact with.
Those individuals were then forced to self-isolate, and so far no residents have tested positive for COVID-19.
The woman will have a court appearance on November 24.
Canadians failing to quarantine has been an issue that authorities have been dealing with this year. Some people have even received jail time.
