The healthiest cities in the world to raise a family were revealed and a spot in Canada made the list!

Which Canadian city made the list?

Ottawa was ranked among the best locations in the world to raise a family, coming in at number seven on the list.

Canada's capital scored relatively well in quality of life, happiness, crime rate and cost of child care.

“Living in a country that is a healthy lifestyle is crucial when [it] comes to thinking about settling down and raising a family,” the report read.

However, of all the cities rated, Ottawa has one of the highest childcare costs at £951.01 a month, which converts to about $1,668.41 CAD.

The only place where that cost is higher is the city of Ljubljana in Slovenia, where child care costs at £1,686.34 a month, or about $2,958.44.

What is the healthiest city in the world for families?

The healthiest city to raise a family is Helsinki, Finland, according to CIA Landlord.

“Helsinki has a high happiness index rating of 7.8 out of 10, alongside a low crime rate index of 23 out of 100 and 15 out of 100 for the pollution index,” the report read.

Additionally, the cost of childcare was among the cheapest at £202.43 a month, which converts to about $355.13.

Which other cities made the cut?

Many other cities around the globe managed to snag a spot in the top 20, including Oslo, in Norway, which came in second place.

The location had an admirable quality of life ranking and low crime rate and pollution index, the report explained.

What’s more, the average cost of childcare was nearly as low as that of Finland at £283.79 a month for the cost of childcare, or about $497.87.

“The city still remains affordable when compared to Bern and Ottawa,” the report stated.
