Trump Official Who Insulted Canada's Military Claims His Comments Were 'Out Of Context'

He didn't offer an apology. 🤔

President Trump's advisor Peter Navarro is claiming that the remarks he made about Canada's military efforts during the war in Afghanistan were taken out of context.

His controversial comments were publicized on August 26.

The White House official was quoted as saying, "Every time that a Canadian shows up in a uniform, it's doing us a favour? How's that work?"

Navarro is now claiming that his words were misinterpreted.

The remark is being taken out of context.

He claims that the discussion was about trade differences between Canada and the U.S., rather than either country's military interests.

"This administration greatly honours our veterans and those in uniform amongst our allies that defend democracy and freedom around the world, and the Trump Administration proves that every day," he said.

"No one should ever doubt that," Navarro added.

The initial quotes were published in the book, "The Madman Theory: Trump Takes On the World," by Jim Sciutto.

Navarro was also quoted as asking, "What's good about Canada?"
