Trudeau & Biden Chatted About Reopening The Canada-US Border During The G7 ...

Justin Trudeau and Joe Biden took some time during the G7 international leaders' summit to discuss reopening the Canada-U.S. border, according to new reports.

A Canadian official told CTV News that the two leaders discussed the shared border between Canada and the States on the side of another session with the rest of the G7 participants.

While exact details about the conversation have not been shared, the duo apparently talked about steps to consider for a "cautious" reopening.

Earlier this week, several Canadian officials revealed the border could be reopened to non-essential travel as early as June 22.

While this has yet to be confirmed by Trudeau or Biden, the Canadian PM did say updates related to the border would focus on those who've been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

"We need people to get the full two doses of their vaccines and that's why easing of restrictions will be focused on Canadians who are fully vaccinated," he said.
