The sequel to the 2006 hit comedy Borat, simply titled Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, was watched around the world, but it might be the last we see of the character.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the man responsible for Borat, Sacha Baron Cohen, announced that he is calling it quits for the character.

The two films follow Borat, a journalist from Kazakhstan, as he tries to make a documentary in the United States.

But while the character is fictional, the world around him is very real, and things apparently got a little uncomfortable for Cohen.

The actor claimed that filming the two movies got just "too dangerous" at some points, saying he even had to wear a bulletproof vest while shooting some scenes.

"You don't want to do that too many times in your life," he said, "I was pretty lucky to get out this time, so no, I'm not doing it again. I'm going to stay with the scripted stuff."

Cohen also stated that he got very little sleep before filming, saying he would run through every possible life-threatening scenario in his head.

"In a normal scene [...] we're trying to make sure, 'How do I make sure my performance is real? Have I done my research? How do I make sure the accent's perfect?'

"In this one you're going, 'Okay, if a bunch of guys with guns come from that side of the stage, have I got a way to get out? What happens if someone shoots me?" he said.
