Here are the totals for each store, before tax:

Walmart is the cheapest of the three stores and the only bill under $300.

Costco has the most expensive bill in total, but when the price is broken down by how much of the product you get, it's actually much cheaper at the wholesaler.

That's because the products at Costco are often bigger than the items at grocery stores, so the price tags are bigger.

Here are the "price per" totals for each store:

• Costco — $47.62
• Walmart — $58.38
• Loblaws — $63.30

Costco's "price per" total is cheaper than the other stores by more than $10!

So, if you want the lowest price by total, Walmart is the cheapest option.

But, if you want the most bang for your buck, Costco is the cheapest retailer!
