Get your hiking boots ready! Fall is a stunning time of year for an outdoor adventure when trails are lined with stunning colours and the air becomes cool and crisp.
This small town near Toronto is the place to be if you're looking for an autumn hike.
Dubbed the "Trail Capital of Canada," the quaint village is home to endless pathways that take you through gorgeous harvest scenery.
Uxbridge, located about an hour away from Toronto, boasts over three hundred kilometres of trails which wind through "historic communities and rural forested lands," according to the website.
You can wander through a wonderland of red and orange and enjoy the season to the fullest at this spot.
There are many hikes to choose from, including The Trans Canada Trail which winds into Uxbridge via an abandoned rail line and crosses the Uxbridge urban area, Durham Forest lands, the Glen Major Forest and more.
Some other gorgeous trails include the Brookdale Trail which takes you through a forest with boardwalk crossings, the Maple Bridge Trail which runs "through lush woodlands with a number of wooden bridges," and Walker Woods & Glen Major Forest where you can take in the foliage.
The town itself has many cute local shops and eateries to explore. Before heading out, stop by Uxbridge's The Bar Cafe where you can grab a warm beverage to enjoy during your journey.
