Calling all nature lovers! This charming small town near Toronto is known for its scenic hikes and it's a dreamy spot for a day trip.

Located about an hour from Toronto, the town is full of quaint shops, attractions and beautiful trails to explore.

According to its website, it's actually been dubbed the "Trail Capital of Canada" due to its many natural areas. There are "over three hundred kilometers of trails running through [its] historic communities and rural forested lands."

Uxbridge is a historic town nestled in the rolling hills of Durham. According to the website, it has "much to offer by way of recreation, entertainment, heritage and culture, a thriving arts community and beautiful surrounding landscapes."

There's lots to enjoy in the town, including local shops, restaurants and walking tours.

Anne of Green Gables fans can explore the Lucy Maud Montgomery Trail and learn about the author's life in the area. You can also adventure along culinary trails like the Beer and Cider Trail or catch a film at the retro Roxy Theatre.
