There's nothing like a morning spent in a charming small town. The air is filled with the smell of fresh coffee wafting through cafe windows and the sun is just starting to warm the sleepy streets.
I recently spent a Saturday morning in the quaint small town of Elora. Located just over an hour from Toronto, the destination is known for its European atmosphere and has been dubbed "Ontario's most beautiful village."

I have to say, I can't agree more with that sentiment. I grew up near Elora but I never get tired of returning to this hidden gem.
The streets are lined with limestone buildings and colourful shops that are straight out of a storybook. Cozy cafes, rustic pubs and local boutiques await, offering delicious food and unique finds.

The town is perched on the edge of a gorge and features views of the rushing Grand River which winds through the area.
My first stop was Cafe Crêperie — my go-to breakfast spot in Elora. The restaurant has Paris vibes and a large menu of sweet and savoury crepes. The coffee is amazing and comes in giant mugs.

Located right beside Cafe Crêperie is another one of my favourite stores — Epiphany. The clothing shop has so many cute outfits and it's hard not to buy everything.
There are tons of cute stores to check out, each one with its own unique feel. From florists to cheese shops and candy stores, there's something for everyone.

With the sun shining bright, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to treat myself to some ice cream. I headed to Scoop Ice Cream which serves "small batch, artisan ice cream hand-crafted in Elora," according to the website.
There are so many flavours and toppings to choose from and I found myself in ice cream heaven.

The Elora Mews is a charming spot to explore. The courtyard is surrounded by limestone walls and boasts serval shops and eateries.
I also stopped by the Mermaid In Elora to browse through the many treasures inside. From jewelry to door knockers, this spot has it all.
Sadly, I didn't have time for a spa day, but I'll definitely be heading to the Elora Mill Hotel & Spa next time I'm in town. The venue is home to a restaurant, spa and luxurious rooms for a magical weekend getaway.
This storybook village is one of my all-time favourite destinations in Ontario and I can't wait until my next visit.
