Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is once again trending on social media for the second time in less than a month. 

#DeSantisResign has been trending at or near the top of Florida Twitter since Sunday. It comes after the Sunshine State obliterated a record for most COVID-19 cases in a single day.

Many are now calling on DeSantis to resign, citing his mismanagement of the coronavirus crises that are engulfing the state. 

Florida recorded 15,300 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday. It's coming in third in the nation with 269,811 cases behind California and New York.  

This is the second DeSantis hashtag to trend in just a week. #DeSantisLiesFloridiansDie was also a big hit just last week.
