While the restoration project is underway, Buccaneer Bay and some other park amenities will be closed.

Narcity spoke with Government Operations Consultant Julie Corisco today to ask for more information on when renovations are expected to be complete.

Corisco told Narcity that renovations are expected to wrap up in September, but many of the other park amenities are actually closed off due to concerns about social distancing — and won't reopen until COVID-19 case numbers improve.

When the park reopens, guests can look forward to Buccaneer Bay waterpark's new erosion control construction, but for those who can't wait, you can still paddle and kayak down the Weeki Wachee River.
