The CNE Is Officially Planning To Reopen In Toronto This Summer

It's hoping to operate as usual.
Lead Writer, Travel

One of Toronto's most thrilling summer attractions is planning on making a comeback this year.

The 2021 Canadian National Exhibition is officially getting ready to open in August.

Aug 20 - Sept 6 Event dates

Founded in 1879, the CNE is Canada’s largest community event and welcomes over 1.5 million visitors every year.

The fair was cancelled for the first time since World War II in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Exactly what this year's event will look like is still uncertain, and depends on what the regulations and restrictions are at the time.

Darrell Brown, the CNE director of corporate support and legal services, told Narcity that they are looking into a variety of ways to host the event.

"We're continuing to look at it, day to day, and we will adjust as we go along," he said. "But our hope is that we can arrive at a full opening."

If everything goes as planned, it might be possible to finally enjoy the beloved fair again this summer.
