Shopping around for a home in Canada's biggest city can be a discouraging experience unless your budget is $1.5 million.

However, there is still a number of Toronto homes for sale that are surprisingly affordable.

Despite being known as the city with tiny million-dollar houses on the market, it's not entirely impossible to find detached homes in Toronto for $600,000.

You won't find homes much cheaper than these within the city limits, that's for sure.
