Ford Just Announced That Rapid Testing Is Officially Coming To Ontario This Month

He says they'll be "game-changers" for Ontarians.

Rapid testing for COVID-19 is about to arrive in Ontario.

Premier Doug Ford announced that 100,000 rapid-testing kits are on their way. However, not all Ontarians will immediately have access to them.

"Those kits — they’re going to go to high priority areas, [such as] congregate living facilities, long-term care, and First Nations [communities] up in the North,” said Ford.

The premier remains anxious about the state of COVID-19 in hot spot areas of the province.

However, he views the rapid tests as "game changers."

The first batch of kits will not be the only one that Ontario receives, as more are set to arrive in the coming weeks.

"I want to get my hands on as many as we can," said Ford, "I want to see millions of these coming to Ontario."

Ford has been pressuring Health Canada to approve the rapid tests over the past few weeks.

And he says it shouldn't be too long until they're distributed across Ontario.
