Food critic Keith Lee has been making the rounds at restaurants in Toronto and he recently gave some major love — and a major tip — to a local pizza joint.

On April 8, the social media personality shared that many people told him he had to check out this specific restaurant as it's been labelled the best pizza in Toronto.

Afro's Pizza, which is located in the Garden District (Dundas and Mutual Street, to be exact), specializes in Detroit-style deep-dish pies and the restaurant gives back to the community and has aspirations of moving to a bigger location as their current one is quite tiny.

"This is really good pizza in my opinion," Lee said after sampling the pizza. "It's sweet, it's saucy, it got hot honey on it, it got that jalapeno, meat is fresh."

"If you ask me that pizza is crazy. It's different, it's unique. I have never had anything like that before."

After giving the pizza a rating of nine out of ten, Lee went inside and chatted with the people working.

"We're bringing fine dining quality food down to the common level so that everyone can have it, not only the rich people are having the good fancy food," said one of the staff members.

He then left the restaurant a very generous $3,000 tip, which the restaurant paid forward.

“He also tipped on top of $3,000 so everyone’s had free pizza for the evening," co-owner Rodney Best told CityNews on Tuesday.

"This is the start of the first day that we’ve been opened [since] his posting. We’re just seeing an influx of customers coming in today, starting from 11 a.m. when we opened, up until now so it hasn’t really stopped yet."
