Police are warning Kingston dog owners to use caution next time they go for a walk with their furry friends.
In a press release, police warned that hotdogs have been left on properties across the area starting on January 13.

Community police are taking this opportunity to remind the public to use an abundance of caution while out walking their dogs.

While it is unclear if these meats contain anything harmful, it has prompted a warning due to recent events in both Rockport and the Brockville area.
Police report that multiple meatballs with unknown pills have been found in Brockville.
It was also reported that a dog in Rockport died after eating an unknown substance.
Now, police are stating that if you come across discarded meat while on a walk with your pup to use extra caution.
This isn't the first time that Ontarians have been warned of drugged meat.
Last year, Torontonians were warned about poisonous meat that was left on walking trails.
Needle-filled meat was also discovered near a popular dog park in Calgary in May.
