The award for most annoying neighbour apparently goes to this Guelph man, and the prize is criminal charges.

Guelph Police put out a statement on the charges, laid early Tuesday.

A Guelph male who refused to stop yelling and annoying his neighbours was arrested early Tuesday for mischief. Guelph Police

"Shortly before 1 a.m., the Guelph Police Service was called to an apartment building near Waterloo Avenue and Silvercreek Parkway South for reports of banging and yelling coming from one of the units," reads the statement.

"Police encountered a male, who refused requests to quiet down and continued to yell and scream while officers were trying to speak to him."

The man was arrested and charged with mischief.

Police noted that, upon identifying the man, he had other charges pending, including theft under $5,000 and escaping lawful custody. His bail hearing is set for Tuesday.

This isn't the only bizarre incident to take place in Ontario this month. Last week, a driver told police that his car wasn't insured because "he didn't believe in insurance."
