If you were planning on making mimosas or toasting something special this weekend, you may have to rethink your plans.

The LCBO's champagne supply has all but dried up.

On the liquor store's website, many of the bottles are listed as unavailable for delivery.

According to CBC, out of the 181 brands of champagne available, only 14 have been available since September 14 — and only in certain stores!

It's a pandemic year, so everything has had a wrench thrown into it with logistics.

The shortage has been amplified by a 12-day strike in August by dock workers at the Port of Montreal, the outlet reports.

Narcity has reached out to the LCBO for a statement on this and is awaiting a response.

According to CBC, there is a supposed champagne delay in France, where hundreds of millions of bottles have been left unshipped and unsold.

"They're worried there are no celebrations happening this year. Restaurants have closed, venues have closed, weddings are deferred," Andrew Rastapkevicius of Capital Wines told CBC.

"If you think about what the archetype of what champagne is for — the partying and the toasting and the celebrating — that's all kind of not allowed in 2020," he continued.
