London fire crews are reminding residents to never leave their candles unattended following a nasty structure fire.

According to the London Fire Department, emergency crews had to deal with a fire on Stratton Drive on Monday morning after the owner left their candles unattended.

Thankfully, the fire was extinguished without injury. However, the preventable incident did result in an estimated $10,000 in damages to the home.

The department did share a terrifying photo of the aftermath, to show what can happen if you do ever leave your candles unattended.

"Never leave a burning candle unattended. Burning candles can start a fire. If using candles, place them in sturdy, safe containers that will not burn or tip over," London Fire warned in a tweet.

The warning also states that candles should be kept 12 inches from anything that can burn and be blown out whenever you leave a room.
