The province has reached an impressive milestone, as new Ontario COVID-19 cases stay below 100 for the sixth day in a row, as well as being the lowest they've been in months.

The Ontario government is reporting that August 7 saw 70 new cases reported, which is the lowest number the province has seen since March 22, when there were 48.

In an August 8 Twitter thread, Health Minister Christine Elliott added that there were also 107 new recoveries the previous day, marking a further decline in overall cases across Ontario.

She added that hospitalizations and ICU admissions continued to fall, and that 29 out of 34 public health units were reporting fewer than five cases, with 15 of those recording none at all.

On top of all of that, the province completed over 26,000 tests, bringing Ontario's total to 2,372,441.
