An Ontario Driver Actually Claimed They Had COVID-19 Just To Get Out Of A Traffic Ticket

It was a G1 driver.

It seems that one Ontario driver was willing to come up with any excuse to get out of a ticket.

According to the OPP, someone actually claimed they had COVID-19 to try to get out of a traffic violation.

The incident, which occurred on Highway 401 near Napanee, reportedly involved a G1 driver.

The rookie motorist was reportedly stopped for driving an unsafe truck with bad plates on November 17, 2020.

The OPP tweeted that officers called the individual an ambulance after they claimed to have the disease.

However, the driver quickly recanted their excuse after more forces started to arrive.

The suspect is facing several Highway Traffic and Quarantine Act charges.

This isn't the first time drivers have used COVID-19 as an excuse to behave recklessly.

Multiple drivers were caught taking advantage of the empty roads and stunt driving earlier this year.
