A handful of winter weather travel advisories were put into effect for southern spots on Thursday morning, including London, Parkhill, and Eastern Middlesex County.

Drivers are being warned to be cautious and prepare for "bursts of snow" and low visibility in some spots.

"Unseasonably cold temperatures are resulting in lake effect flurries early this morning. Some of these flurries are locally heavy, and a couple centimetres of accumulation are possible on roads," Environment Canada warns.

Conditions will improve significantly later in the day with temperatures warming up by the afternoon.
