After initiating step one several days ahead of schedule, the premier hinted on Wednesday that Ontario's reopening plan could be accelerated once again.

Speaking to CP24 about moving into step two sooner, Ford said, "I'll be sitting down with the health table and Dr. Williams and we'll make that decision, but no one in this province wants to open up quicker than I do."

"I just can't wait," he added. "People are ready, everyone has worked really, really hard, and I'm very grateful for the frontline health care workers and the people of Ontario, they've done an incredible, incredible job getting to the point where we're at right now."

Currently, step two is poised to begin on July 2, exactly 21 days after the start of step one. Personal care services will be allowed to open provincewide — nail salons around Toronto, many of which have been closed for nearly a full year, are preparing to open for this date.

Step two will allow outdoor gatherings of up to 25 people and indoor gatherings of up to five.* Restaurant patios can serve six people per table, and stores can increase their capacity for in-person shopping. Outdoor attractions like amusement parks and water parks can also invite guests back during this stage.
