Siakam Shuts Down Raptors Haters Ahead Of Their Orlando Return Next Month

"We are the champions, and if you don’t see it, that’s your problem."
Contributing Writer

As the Raptors get ready to play in Orlando next month, it seems that the last thing on their minds is what people think of them. In an interview with TSN, Raptors' Pascal Siakam shut down haters who don't expect them to become two-time champions. In fact, Pascal admitted that the haters weren't his problem.

In case you forgot, the Raptors were having an incredibly good year before the NBA season was suspended.

The team proved over and over again during the 2019-2020 season that no amount of injuries or loss of star power could erode their undeniable talent.

Still, despite Toronto’s impressive run, which landed them one of the tops spots in the East, there are still plenty of haters out there.

Thankfully, none of the shade appears to have gotten to the Raptors.

In fact, Pascal sheds some light on exactly what he thinks of non-believers.

“To be simple and truthful, I don’t care what people think of the Raptors,” Pascal Siakam told TSN.

“I think for us it’s been a lot of years of caring about ‘Oh, love me too,’ you know what I mean? I think that’s over, man."

"We are where we are. We are the champions, and if you don’t see it, that’s your problem. For us, it’s about us. We’re not worried about what other people think."

“We’re worried about us. We’re worried about continuing to win games and chase championships. That’s the only thing we care about,” he added.

The Raptors will be heading to Orlando, Florida, on July 31 to participate in the return of the NBA.

The event, which will be held at Disney World, will include 13 Western Conference teams and nine Eastern Conference teams.

The Raptors were one of the four teams in the league to clinch a playoff spots before the NBA suspended its season.
