Located just over an hour from Toronto, the enchanting community is brimming with old-world charm and European vibes. According to The Canadian Encyclopedia, the region was named after a Scottish novelist and "was a centre of Scottish settlement in Upper Canada," so you may just feel like you've taken a mini trip to Edinburgh while gazing at the historic buildings.

Galt, Ontario is a small community located in Cambridge. While it isn't a town, it does have a small town atmosphere and is a beautiful spot for a day trip or weekend getaway.

One of the highlights of the community is the Grand River. The scenic body of water cuts through the area and is a stunning spot for a stroll or longer hike.

You can also check out the Cambridge Sculpture Garden, located in downtown Galt, which is home to year-round public art exhibitions.
