Ontario Can Expect ‘Great Announcements’ Next Week As Case Numbers Improve

Ford hinted at exciting developments for Ontario.
Contributor

It sounds like the province might just be ready to take the next step and start heading towards stage three in Ontario.

At his daily media briefing on Friday, July 10, Premier Doug Ford was asked if people should expect another big announcement on Monday, July 13. The province has typically been confirming new reopenings on Mondays in recent weeks.

We're having some great announcements next week, stay tuned.

And the Premier teased that there's set to be more than one "great" announcement after the weekend, noting that residents will have to wait until then. He had said yesterday that "It's going to come very shortly, hopefully sooner than later."

As of this week, the entirety of Ontario is officially in stage two of the reopening framework for the first time since the pandemic closed most businesses.

However, most areas outside the GTA were able to enter stage two around a month ago now, prompting speculation that, as case numbers keep largely falling in Ontario, stage three could be just around the corner.
