Canadian Olympian Tessa Virtue and Toronto Maple Leafs star Morgan Rielly are expecting their first child together.

The ice dancer shared the news on Tuesday via Instagram with a carousel of photos showing a growing baby bump.

By the looks of the pictures, the couple, who got married in 2023, recently went on a tropical vacation. Virtue shared a few snaps showing palm trees and the ocean and surprised fans by sharing two photos that show a pregnant belly.

"Some snaps from my favourites folder from a few weeks back," Virtue wrote in the caption.

The photos also show Rielly kissing Virtue on the cheek and in another, the Leafs defenceman is sitting on the beach.

This is the first time Virtue has shared anything about her pregnancy and many surprised followers were quick to jump in the comments to share their congratulatory messages with the couple.

"Omg!! We missed a chapter! Congrats," one person wrote.

"Congratulations!!! You’re going to be the very best mama!" another person commented.

"Yay! Congratulations you two! Wouldn’t be surprised if the little bean came out already wearing skates lol," another comment reads.

"Future first overall draft pick in the NHL or PWHL," another person expressed.

Virtue and Rielly are known for their privacy when it comes to their relationship.

The couple announced they were engaged in January 2023. Then in early 2024 many fans began speculating the two were married when Rielly was spotted wearing what looked like a wedding band.

Virtue confirmed she and Rielly were married in February 2024 in an exclusive interview with Hello! Canada.

"You know when something is just so meaningful to you that you simultaneously want to just hold on to it and protect it so fiercely, and also shout it from the rooftops?" Virtue told Hello! at the time.

The Olympian revealed the couple had two wedding celebrations, one in Toronto at Noce Restaurant and then another in Tuscany, Italy.
