You Can Hike Through Towering Cliffs To The Top Of An Island At This Ontario Spot

There's even a cave and hidden ladder along the way.

Lead Writer, Travel

Island hikes might sound like something off a tropical vacation brochure, but you can experience one right here in Ontario.

The Cup and Saucer Trail on Manitoulin Island will take you to a stunning 70-metre cliff lookout that gazes over West Bay and Lake Manitou.

There are 12 kilometres worth of trails in total, with a single trail leading from the parking lot to the popular East Lookout, and a loop leading back around.

A 2-kilometre side trail is the perfect detour for anyone seeking adventure, and you can explore crevasse caves and climb a hidden ladder.

The island itself is accessible by car or by the Chi-Cheemaun ferry during the warmer months.
