Toronto Is Starting To Reopen A Bunch Of Indoor Spaces Like Pools & Gyms This Week

Toronto is reopening several indoor recreational facilities across the city this week following Ontario's move into the third and final step of its provincial reopening plan on July 16.

As of this Monday, July 19, indoor fitness centres, weight rooms, and walking tracks will be open for public use. Torontonians can also access community centre spaces, like washrooms and showers, as well as areas for heat relief.

The indoor facilities opening up on Wednesday, July 21, are going to be a splash hit, as indoor swimming pools will be open for lane and leisure swim. Drop-in programs for sports or other leisure activities will also reopen indoors.

Next week on Monday, July 26, indoor aquafit classes and indoor fitness classes will kick off, on top of enhanced youth spaces, seniors' centres, and conservatories.

and physical distancing must be maintained. Masking protocols are still going to be implemented in common areas but can be taken off during physical activity.

Reservations will be available for aquafit classes, fitness centres, group fitness classes, lane and leisure swim, but walk-ins will also be available.
