The City of Toronto just announced it will be holding a long weekend dose drive and will be opening up over 19,000 new COVID-19 vaccine appointments.

In a press release, the City revealed over 4,750 additional appointments will be added for this Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and will be spread across six of the city's immunization clinics.

This will total 19,000 new appointments and will be in addition to the already scheduled doses that are set to take place this weekend.

These new appointments will become available on the provincial vaccine booking system at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and anyone 18 years or older is eligible to book.

On top of this, 10,000 new vaccine appointments are also being added to the City-run clinics for next week.

"Should you wish to take advantage of the additional appointment availability by booking an earlier appointment, you can do that by accessing the reschedule link that is included in your appointment confirmation email that you received when you made your original appointment booking," stated Matthew Pegg, the general manager of Toronto's Office of Emergency Management.
