We're not sure what exactly is happening in this video of a Toronto dump truck and a Mini Cooper, but we're pretty sure it's not allowed.

And Toronto Police agree, seeing as they've reportedly charged the driver of the dump truck after an incident between the two vehicles took place on Tuesday, March 23.

A video of the incident — which shows the Mini Cooper as it's being pushed along by the truck — was shared widely on TikTok and 6ixBuzz after it was posted.

According to TPS Detective Constable Scott Matthews, the dump truck pushed the Mini Cooper for over a half a kilometre up the on-ramp and onto the Gardiner.

The driver of the Mini suffered injuries, Matthews said, but they were "lucky" that they were only minor.

An Eye-Witness Account

In a statement to Narcity, Sgt. Murray Campbell from Toronto Police's Traffic Services said the incident began just before 10 a.m. at the intersection of westbound Lakeshore Boulevard and Jarvis.

Campbell said the dump truck and the Mini Cooper were involved in a collision but that the truck did not stop and continued driving up the ramp.

Passing motorists managed to flag down the dump truck driver, who was charged with "several driving and commercial motor vehicle offences."

“The driver of the small vehicle was assessed at the scene, by paramedics, but not transported to the hospital,” Campbell said.
